There are three double Guest Rooms at The Orchard, each decorated in Victorian style and include en suite washing facilities.
Downstairs guests may relax in the drawing room, with its wood fire in Winter. All meals are served in the guests’ dining room.
The house is set in a garden of trees, shrubs, colourful borders, and includes Ginny's collection of garden statuary. Also, this year a new patio for hopefully, guest barbecues in the evenings!
History
The Orchard has had a varied history over the years. Originally built as a barn, some 300 years ago, it was converted into a house and workshop not long after the First World War. Later it became a Tea Room, one of many catering for the visitors for whom a walk across the downs from Ilfracombe was an essential part of their holiday.
Since moving to The Orchard in 1992, Ginny and Geoff have modernised the facilities where appropriate, whilst ensuring they retain the character and atmosphere of earlier times. |
The Guest Rooms
There are three guest bedrooms, one king size, one double 4 poster and one with twin which is generally used for children - sharing the bathroom with parents in the 4 poster room. All have wash basins, full hospitality trays, TV, Radio and hair dryers.
The Garden Room
This King bedded room includes shower en-suite as well as wash basin and looks out directly over the garden.
The Four Poster Room
The feature of this room is an original Victorian brass four poster bed and fire place. Also included are en suite washing facilities and a view of the picturesque village houses.
The Blue Room
This is a twin bedded room that is often used in conjunction with the Four Poster room to form a family suite. |  |

Whether you are looking for an overnight stop, or a holiday base, you can be assured The Orchard has a menu to meet your requirements. A light breakfast, the indulgence of a ‘Full English’, or perhaps something in between – the choice is yours.
If you would like the flexibility of eating out and about some nights, and with us on others, then so long as you let us know in advance we can provide a wide range of evening meals - from a full four course dinner with coffee to a light supper. No problems if you have special dietary requirements, or prefer vegetarian or vegan dishes, just let us know. |

Location
Lee is situated on the North Devon coast about 3 miles west of Ilfracombe. The Orchard is on the road that runs though the centre of Lee, about 50 metres beyond the church and Memorial Hall. All roads into Lee are single track, with passing places, but the most accessible routes come through Lincombe either coming from the east via the road from Ilfracombe, or from the south from the turning off of the A3132.
